Blanche N. Hummel

Blanche N. Hummel, 91, of Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, surrounded by family at Cornwall Manor. Born in Tulpehocken, she was the daughter of Alvin and Elsie Knoll. Blanche was the loving wife of Charles E. Hummel who died in 2022. She was an active and faithful member of St. Mark's UCC in Lebanon. Blanche was a proud graduate of Womelsdorf High School class of 1951. For most of her career, Blanche worked at Sears, Roebuck & Company starting in the catalog department and later credit central. An avid reader, she also enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening and was known to be an excellent cook.

Surviving are four children, Brenda Hummel and partner Bart Zahurak; Norma Jean wife of Brad Arnold; Edward husband of Terry Hummel and Douglas husband of Marjorie Hummel. She had five grandchildren- Tishe Hummel, Adam Hummel, Seth Hummel, Blaine Hummel and Callie Arnold and two great grandchildren- Lillian Robinson and Roxanne Hummel. Also surviving are two siblings- Gloria Strickler and Jay husband of Linda Knoll. Preceding her in death are two siblings- Margie Riegel and Vernon Knoll.

Services will be private. Interment will be in Schaefferstown Cementery. Those desiring may send memorial contributions in Blanche's memory to St. Mark's United Church of Christ, 426 North 8th Street, Lebanon, PA 17046-4725.
