Carl James Riss

Carl James Riss, 83, of Cornwall, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Manor. He was the husband of Pauline J. Renner, whom he married January 5, 1958. Carl was born in Ridgway, PA on December 16, 1934, son of the late James C. and Lillian A. Olivett Riss.
He was a graduate of Emporium High School and received his ME in Industrial Arts from Penn State. Carl was a Navy Veteran serving in the Submarine Corps. He was a retired supervisor for the US Gypsum Corp. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Pine Grove. Carl was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.
In addition to his wife, Pauline, Carl is survived by his son James C., husband of Susan Riss of Columbia, MD, his daughter Lisa Riss of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren James Nicholas Riss and Evan Christopher Riss.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Carl’s memorial service on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at 10 AM from Porterfield-Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, Ltd., 890 Isabel Dr., Lebanon (next to Quentin Circle) with Rev. Dr. Ira Lydic and Chaplain Glen Esler officiating. Friends will be received Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 9 AM to time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be made in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Carl’s memory to Hospice for ALL Seasons Foundation, 280 S. Hill Drive, Grantville, PA 17028
