Carole Faye Koons

Carole Faye Koons, 85, of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Spang Crest Manor, Lebanon. She was the wife of the late William D. Koons, who passed away October 28, 2020. Carole was born in Lebanon on January 18, 1936, daughter of the late Alfred U. and Carrie Dunkelberger Schroff.
Carole was a 1953 graduate of Lebanon High School. She worked as a cake decorator. Carole was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, Lebanon, was active with Cub Scouts and was a District Commissioner for several years and volunteered at the Salvation Army in Lebanon. She enjoyed dancing, especially ballroom dancing and the Hershey Bears Hockey.
Carole is survived by her son, Scott, husband of Cheri Koons of Lebanon, her daughter Debra, wife of Kevin Yeagley of Greenpoint; her grandchildren, Ryan and Shawnie Yeagley; her brother, Alfred, husband of Hazel Schroff of Harrisburg and sister, Helen Fuhrman of Lebanon. She was preceded in death by sisters, Emma L. Schroff and Susan Schroff.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Carole’s funeral service on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 10 AM from Porterfield-Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, Ltd., 890 Isabel Dr., Lebanon, where a viewing will be held Wednesday beginning at 9 AM to time of service. Interment will be made in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
