Col. Donald V. Snyder

Donald V. Snyder, 89, of Myerstown, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at Towne Center, Myerstown. He was the husband of Helen Iona Stamm Snyder whom he married in Bethel on November 17, 1951. Don was born in Rehrersburg on May 17, 1929, son of the late Vernon John and Emma Furman Snyder.
Don retired in 1989 after 38 years of service from the United States Air Force-PAANG, where he attained the rank of Colonel. He was a member of Myerstown United Church of Christ. Don was a 50 year member of Williamson Lodge #307 F&AM, Womelsdorf, member of Reading Consistory, Rajah Shrine, Reading, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Quittapahilla Forest 25, Lebanon, Quittie Woods, Lebanon, Myerstown-ELCO Rotary Club, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow, Bethel American Legion Post 0991 and a life member of National Guard Association of Pennsylvania.
In addition to his wife Helen, Don is survived by a daughter JoAnn Snyder of Exeter Twp. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard Snyder.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Don’s memorial service on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 11 AM from Myerstown UCC, 306 W. Main Ave, Myerstown, PA 17067 with Rev. Richard Luciotti officiating. Interment will be made in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Please omit flowers, memorial contributions in Don’s memory may be made to his church or Myerstown-ELCO Rotary Club.
