Forrest Glenn Dishong, 83, lifelong resident of Cornwall, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at the Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Jean A. Carpenter Dishong, to whom he was married for 62 years. Forrest was born in Hershey on March 30, 1935, son of the late Ry and Alma McLaughlin Dishong.
Forrest was a 1953 graduate of Cornwall High School. He retired after 35 year service with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania PennDot Testing Lab, after retiring Forest worked for Cornwall School District Middle School in food service and entrance monitor. He had also worked in the security and utility departments of Hershey Park. He was an active member of Quentin UCC where he was a deacon, elder, Sunday School teacher and various committees. Forrest was a member of Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226 F&AM Lebanon. He had coached baseball in the Cornwall area including the LV Teener All Stars. He served on Cornwall Boro Council and was a member of Rexmont Fire Co and Cornwall Ambulance Corp. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, cheering on the Phillies and Eagles with his niece Kathy for many years.
In addition to his wife, Forrest is survived by his son Dale wife of Melisa Dishong of Jonestown, his daughter Kay, wife of Craig Boyer of Cornwall, grandchildren Scott Boyer, Amanda Templin, great grandchildren Isabel Boyer, Griffin Boyer, Aubrey Templin, Liam Templin, his sister Anita Swearingen of Rexmont, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11 AM from Quentin UCC where friends will be received from 10 AM to time of Celebration.
