Gordon L. Myers
b. October 5, 1952
Gordon L. Myers, 70, of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Cherie Dodson Myers whom he married April 3, 1976. Gordy was born in Hanover on October 5, 1952, son of the late Arthur and Myrna Rohrbaugh Myers.
He was a graduate of Bermudian Springs High School and received his BA in Psychology from Messiah College and was employed as a certified teacher in special education in the Ephrata School District. Gordon also worked in the Adolescent Department of Philhaven Hospital for over 10 years. Gordy volunteered at the Lebanon Rescue Mission, School Based Therapy and School to Work program. He was a man of numerous interests, enjoying the Beatles music, playing guitar and when in high school played in a rock band who’s several members are professional musicians, enjoyed hunting, model railroading, reading, woodworking, travel and attending grandchildren events. Gordon was an active member of Fairland Brethren in Christ Church, Cleona.
In addition to his wife, Cherie, Gordon will be missed by his daughters, Alisha, wife of John Risser of Lebanon, Meredith, wife of Jeff Engebretson of Fredericksburg; his 7 grandchildren and brother, Greg Myers of Carlisle.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Gordy’s memorial service on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11:00 AM from Fairland Brethren in Christ Church, 529 W. Penn Ave, Cleona. Friends will be received at the church beginning Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 10:00 AM to time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Gordy’s memory may be made to his church or to Servants Oasis.
