Helen Erdman
b. February 26, 1933
Helen Erdman, 90, of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Spang Crest. She was the wife of the late John C. Erdman who passed away in July 1982. She was born in Lebanon on February 26, 1933, daughter of the late Michael and Cecilia Santekovic Vanovich.
Helen was a graduate of Lebanon High School Class of 1951. She was a retired unit secretary at the Good Samaritan Hospital with 20 years of service. She also worked at Van Winkle’s Candies. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Lebanon. Helen enjoyed cross-stitching, playing cards with friends, reading and crossword puzzles. Helen especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Helen will be missed by her children, David, husband of Carol Erdman, Dori, wife of Michael Gruber, Dan, husband of Heather Erdman, Diane, wife of Terry Fureman all of Lebanon; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by siblings, Mary Zohn, Stephen Vanovich and George Vanovich.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Helen’s funeral services on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 1:30 PM from Porterfield-Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, Ltd., 890 Isabel Dr., Lebanon. A viewing will be held Wednesday beginning at 12 Noon to time of service at the funeral home. A private family interment will be held at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Helen's memory may be made to Bethany UMC, 510 N. Hanover St., Lebanon, PA 17046.
