John M. Mccurdy

John M. McCurdy, 88, of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020 at his residence. He was the husband of Marion L. “Cookie” Wills McCurdy whom he married July 20, 1963. John was born in Myerstown on August 28, 1932, son of the late John Bucher McCurdy and Kathryn Roof McCurdy.
He was a retired mechanic having worked for R & J Motors later Chapman Ford as a front end specialist. He was a member of Kochenderfer United Methodist Church, Lebanon. John was member, Past Master and instructor of Mt. Olivet Lodge #704 F&AM, Lebanon, York Rite Bodies of Lebanon, Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Shrine, Harrisburg, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Forest #25, Lebanon and was appointed by the Grand Lodge of PA as a member of MSA serving over 38 years at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. John enjoyed hunting and family time spent camping and boating.
In addition to his wife “Cookie”, John, is survived by his children, Brian, husband of Dawn McCurdy of Lebanon, John Jr, husband of Patricia McCurdy of Mohnton, Debra, wife of Larry Gibson of Ocala, FL, Barry, husband of Evelyn Hufford of Cornwall; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brothers Phillip. Husband of Sylvia McCurdy of Shartlesville, Robert, husband of Mary McCurdy of Lebanon; sisters Sandy Tobias of Lebanon, Linda, wife of James Kersey of Cleona, Barbara Brungard of Lebanon, and Darlene Steiner of Harrisburg and pet dogs Katie and Susie. John was preceded in death by his first wife Anna Brightbill McCurdy, brothers Ricky and Ronald, sisters Grace Winters, Christine Meyers, Pearl Csallner and Nancy Novak.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend John’s funeral services on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 10:00 AM from Kochenderfer’s United Methodist Church, 1105 Kochenderfer Rd, Lebanon 17046. A viewing will be held Thursday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the church. A Masonic Service will be held Thursday at 9:45 AM by Mt. Olivet Lodge #704. Interment will be made in Grand View Memorial Park. Please omit flowers memorial contribution in John’s memory my be made to his church or the MTA of Lebanon, P.O. Box 1572, Lebanon, PA 17042.
