Joseph C. Saile

Joseph C. Saile, 83, of Lebanon, passed away Monday, January 4, 2021 at the Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Dorothy A. “Dottie” Horst Saile, to whom he was married for 37 years. Joe was born in Lancaster on August 23, 1937, son of the late Dr. Harold and Ruth Ringling Saile.
Joe was a graduate of Lebanon High School, received his Bachelor’s Degree from Lebanon Valley College and his Master’s Degree from Temple University. He taught English at Northern Lebanon High School for 34 years and coached Girl’s Basketball. Joe also worked for 25 years as a Mutual Clerk at Penn National Racetrack. Joe attended Sacred Heart of Jesus, Cornwall. He was a past member of Friendship Fire Company, Lebanon. Joe was an avid golfer and Norte Dame Fan, sports in general and pets, especially Keegan, Abbi and Cali.
In addition to his wife, Dottie, Joe will be missed by his sons Jeffrey, Christopher, Joseph Saile, of Tampa, FL, Richard A. husband of Deb Carpenter of Cornwall, Scott, husband of Renee Carpenter of Sinking Spring; his grandchildren Christopher, husband of Erica Scharle, Andrew Carpenter, Nicholas Scharle, Benjamin, husband of Robyn Carpenter, Leland Saile, Shannon Saile and great granddaughter Stella Scharle.
