Joyce attended Harding Junior High and was a member of the Lebanon High School Class of 1953. Upon graduation, she entered the workforce by taking a job at WLYH-TV for one year. In 1954 she started her 25-year journalism career with the Lebanon Daily News working initially as a reporter on general assignments. She advanced to be a copy editor and eventually became the Women's Editor of the Women's Section of the paper. Joyce also worked as a stringer for the Patriot News, Lebanon Bureau and part-time at the Merchandiser as a proofreader. In 1979, Joyce began what would be a second career as a staff writer for the Good Samaritan Hospital where she retired after 25 years as the Director of Community Relations.
Joyce's faith in God was very strong and she proved so by working as His servant throughout the community her entire life. She served on various leadership and administrative teams at her church, Trinity United Methodist. Joyce was most known for her dedication and love for the Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary and Street Fair. Joyce proudly served the auxiliary as recording secretary for decades and volunteered at all 65 GSH Auxiliary Street Fairs.
Joyce had a love for many things and one of them was traveling the world with her friends. She visited many countries, Switzerland and Bermuda being her favorites. Her love for the color purple became her signature later in her life and was known by many as "the purple lady".
She is preceded in death by her parents and twin brother John R. Dissinger. She is survived by her adopted family, Mike, Yvonne, Adam, Alex and Amelia Kuhn, along with her dearest friends Robert Hoffman, Debbie and Bruce Ludwig, George and Carol Hollich, Joni Fegan and Joan Snyder.
