Lilyan (Lyn) Burnett Sherman

Lyn Burnett Sherman, 88, of Cornwall Manor, Lebanon County PA, formerly of Basking Ridge, NJ, passed away August 2, 2024 at her residence. Lyn was born in Plainfield, NJ on November 20,1935, daughter of the late Charles E. Anstedt and Martha Coddington Anstedt. She was the loving wife of the late Walter J. Sherman. She attended Schools in Basking Ridge, NJ and in 1955 graduated from Katherine Gibbs Business School in Montclair NJ. Her career included working at the Veterans Hospital, Lyons NJ and Real Estate sales at Dobbs Realtors and Weichert Realtors in Basking Ridge NJ until 1984 when Lyn became Manager-Broker of the Weichert Realtors Bernardsville,NJ office. After retirement in 1990, Lyn became a Master Gardner in Charlottesville, VA and later in Lebanon PA. She was an active member of the Fluvanna Garden Club in Virgina and the D.A.R, Basking Ridge Chapter, NJ. She was a member of the Cornwall United Methodist Church, Cornwall, PA. Lyn enjoyed gardening, golf, traveling and art. Her primary joy was sharing time with her family; the late husband Walter J. Sherman; her four children, nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter; son Wayne Burnett (Donna) grandchildren Matthew, Allison, Brooke; daughter Debbie Lawson (Chet), grandchildren, Brody, Mitchell, Tatum; son Michael Burnett, grandchildren Lauryn Ingram (Walter) great granddaughter Shannon Rose Ingram, Zachary, Adam; step daughter, Catherine Sherman and sister, Martha Lenhoff. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornwall Manor Benevolent Fund P.O. Box 125, Cornwall, PA 17016 or Cornwall UMC, P.O.
