Nancy G. Poust, 98, formerly of Lebanon passed away Saturday morning, March 20, 2021 at Cornwall Manor. Born in Philadelphia on March 1, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Esther Michael Gundrum.
Nancy graduated from Haverford Township High School in 1940 and then received her BS from Drexel University in 1944. She had worked as a trainer for IBM. In 1948 she married George S. Poust, MD from Hughesville, PA, he preceded her in death on February 14, 1998.
Nancy and George were world travelers, members of Lebanon Country Club and Salem Lutheran Church, Lebanon where Nancy served on the Archives Committee. Nancy believed in giving back to the community, so over the years she was involved in numerous local activities. She served as past president of the Good Samaritan Hospital Auxillary, past president of the Lebanon County Medical Society Auxiliary, member and past president of the Board of Oakview Home, past president of the Guild of Lebanon County Historical Society and a member of the TB Society of Lebanon. Nancy enjoyed playing bridge with several lady's groups.
Nancy will be missed by her three children, Judy P., wife of Barry L. Heckard of Lebanon, David M., husband of Joni Hower Poust of Bel Air, Maryland and Marsha V. Poust, wife of Martin P. Werkheiser of Harleysville; 4 granddaughters, Kassy Heckard O'Neill, wife of James O'Neill and Molly L. Heckard, all of Havertown, Julia M. Poust of Boston and Allison Poust of San Diego and 2 great granddaughters, Maurin T. O'Neill and Hayley J. O'Neill.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of Nancy's family. Burial will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with her husband, George. Memorial remembrances may be made in Nancy's memory to a favorite charity of one's choice.
