Nhan Thanh Nguyen passed peacefully on Monday, December 17, 2018 at his residence in Lebanon. He was 73 years old and is survived by his wife Qui P. Nguyen and three children, Tuyen, Quynh and Thai. He will be remembered by his 6 siblings who reside in Orange County, Ca. He was also loved by his in-laws,nieces and nephews, and bountiful of friends.
Nhan was born in Vietnam on November 11, 1945, to the late Canh T. Nguyen and surviving mom Tam T. Nguyen. Before coming to America he was a decorated Captain in the South Vietnamese Army. He served proudly until the fall of Saigon which led him to be imprisoned in POW camp for 8 years.
He was a retired Design Engineer for Butler Corp where his side expertise was in trouble shooting. Nhan lived life to the fullest through simplest pleasures like being adventurous with foods, his love of competitive ping pong, and traveling. He was energetic and enjoyed his daily swim and exercise routine at the local YMCA. He also has a knack for fixing broken/non-functional items ranging from small and large electronics to cars. He enjoyed photography and making family videos. His soft spot for dogs was also admirable. He never turn down aide to anyone who asked him.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Nhan’s funeral arrangements: A viewing will be held Saturday from 3 to 6 PM at the funeral home and funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2018 from 9 to 11 AM at Porterfield-Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, Ltd., 890 Isabel Dr., Lebanon (next to Quentin Circle).
