Richard C. Nitto

Richard C. Nitto, 95, of East Cocalico Twp., Berks County, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Jane V. Markland Nitto who passed away January 19, 2016. Richard was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 14, 1927, son of the late Frank and Alberretta Kennedy Nitto.
He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, where he received a Purple Heart and a Korean Service Medal with 4 bronze stars. He was a retired Tin Knocker, working from the Sheetmetal Union Local #28, NY Long Island. Richard enjoyed history, reading and music.
He will be missed by his children, Richard C., husband of Colleen Nitto of Commack, NY, Diane, wife of Thomas Dixon of Cornwall, David Nitto of Johnsonville, NY; his 11 grandchildren ; 4 great grandchildren and his daughter in law, Pamela Nitto, Riverside, CA, wife of the late Walter Nitto. He was preceded in death by his 3 siblings.
Private family service and interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors.
