Richard R. "Rick" Royer

Richard R. “Rick” Royer,76, of Lebanon, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the husband of Rosene A. Schaeffer whom he married July 19, 1969. Rick was born in Lebanon on May 7, 1946, son of the late Henry and Kathryn Fertig Royer.
He received his bachelor and master degrees from Penn State University and taught biology, Vo Ag and computer science at Conrad High School. He was responsible for starting the computer system in the elementary school. Rick was a member and Past Worshipful Master of Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226 F&AM of Lebanon and member and former secretary of Chapter 115 OES, Lebanon. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading and listening to books.
In addition to his wife, Rosene, Rick will be missed by his daughter, Heather, wife of Allen Lloyd of Morgantown, his son, Rodney, husband of Mosel Royer of Lititz; his 6 grandchildren; two cousins, Sue Dice of Womelsdorf and Carol Hugar of Lewisberry.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Rick’s funeral services on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 11 AM from Porterfield-Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, Ltd., 890 Isabel Dr., Lebanon where friends will be received Saturday beginning at 10 AM until time of service. Masonic Service by Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226 F&AM will held Saturday at 11 AM followed by Order of Eastern Star service by Chapter 115 OES.
