Richard E. Weaver, 89, of Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday October 19, 2021 at Cedar Haven. Richard was born in Lebanon on March 2, 1932, son of the late Richard R. and Helen C. Putt Weaver.
He was 1950 graduate of Lebanon High School. He was a Korean War Veteran serving aboard the U.S. Navy’s USS Great Sitkin and upon discharge enlisted in the US Air Force. Richard retired from PA Department of General Services and prior to General Services he had worked in construction. He was a proud Veteran and was a member of the DAV, Lebanon VFW Post 23, Lebanon Navy Club Ship 91. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Lebanon. Richard was also well known for hanging out with his friends at Frederick Chevrolet in Lebanon, who became a beloved second family over more than 30 years. Richard loved his family and was often seen at Friday night family gatherings at Dutchway Restaurant in Myerstown or Quentin Haus in Quentin. Richard enjoyed automobiles of all types.
Richard is survived by his sister, Nancy Lee Weaver-Eggert Starner of Lebanon and her children James R., husband of Pam Eggert, David M., husband Shelley Eggert, Carey A., husband of Holly Eggert and Linda M. Eggert-Kohr and husband Bruce. Richard is also survived by several great nieces, great nephews, grand nephews and one grandniece.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Richard’s funeral services on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 11 AM from Porterfield-Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, Ltd., 890 Isabel Dr., Lebanon where a viewing will be held Tuesday beginning at 10 AM to time of service. Interment will be made in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville.
