Ruth T. Ward

Ruth T. Ward, 97, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Oak Leaf Manor North. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 4, 1921, daughter of the late Albert and Gertrude Hallam Walters.
Ruth was a US Marine Corp veteran of WWII and had attained the rank of Sergeant, last serving as a recreational assistant, SSN 283, Miramar. She was a tennis and swim instructor last working for the YWCA, Brooklyn, NY. Ruth was a member of the 4th Ave Presbyterian Church, Brooklyn, NY. She enjoyed family time, fitness, animals, travel, FFA and reading.
Ruth is survived by her children Rita, wife of Darin Pickles of Lancaster, Robert R. Thompson, Jr. of Jenkintown and Ralph H. Thompson of San Francisco, CA.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
