Warren L. Sholly, 96, of Ebenezer, PA passed away peacefully on November 23, 2023. He was the son of Wayne and Gladys Sholly and was happily married to Grace M. (Light) Sholly for 73 years. Warren was born in Mt. Zion on November 16, 1927. After graduating from Fredericksburg High School (Bethel Township), he proceeded to graduate from Lebanon Business School. He worked his entire career at his father’s Desoto Plymouth dealership. He was the parts manager, a salesman and facilitator— helping in any way he could to keep the business running smoothly. He was an active member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church where he served as chief usher. He was named fire police captain for the Ebenezer Fire company and enjoyed serving with the fire police at Mt. Gretna. Although a man of few words, he seemed especially happy to recall his days working at Hershey Park Estates as well. He enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and bowling in his younger days. In his later years he enjoyed his dogs, auctions, grilling, pinochle and antique cars. His family best remembers him for his exceptional patience as he taught us how to water ski, turning his boat around thousands of times to scoop us back up from the water. He was an active member of Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226 F & AM, Lebanon, York Rite Bodies of Lebanon, serving as presiding officer in Chapter, Council and Commandery. He was also a member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon Quittapahilla Forest 25, Lebanon and Quitty Woods. Warren was a 60 year member of Masons of Pennsylvania. His kindness and thoughtfulness will be remembered fondly. He is survived by his brother Lee Sholly (Anna Mae) of Lebanon, PA and his sisters, Arlene Zellers of Annville, PA and Colleen Cronlund (Martin) of Bowie, MD. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Warren’s funeral service on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 11 AM from Porterfield-Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, Ltd., 890 Isabel Dr., Lebanon where a viewing will be held Tuesday beginning at 10 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
