Wilbert W. Maloney, fondly known as Bill, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Linden Village. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara A. Maloney, with whom he shared 57 wonderful years of marriage. Bill was born in Chester, PA, on September 21, 1937, to the late Catherine L. Meredith and Wilbert Maloney. He was a proud graduate of Bladensburg High School, Maryland.
As a well-respected businessman, Bill owned and operated Bill Maloney Menswear stores, which served the communities of Hershey, Lebanon, and Valley Green for over two decades. He was a devoted member of Zion United Methodist Church in Lebanon and a long-time member of Mt. Lebanon Masonic Lodge #226.
Bill was known for his humor, often playing the role of the comedian and jokester among family and friends. His creative talents as an artist, designer, and woodworker were admired by many. In his spare time, he enjoyed wine making, gardening, and traveling, filling his life with a rich variety of hobbies and passions.
He is survived by his children: Tami Windholz, wife of Frederick Windholz of Carlisle; Timothy Maloney, husband of Shelia Maloney of Annville; and Cathy Kershner, wife of Claude Kershner III of Malvern. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Jordan, Colby, Rachel, and Harrison, as well as six great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a private memorial service to honor Bill’s life. In remembrance, donations may be made to Zion Iona United Methodist Church, 1920 S 5th Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042.
