Winfield Ross Boyd

Winfield Ross Boyd, Jr, 98, of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2020 in the Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the husband of the late Mary Jane Bord Boyd who passed away August 9, 2013. Ross was born in Lebanon on March 15, 1922, son of the late Winfield Ross Boyd, Sr and Margaret Mae Smith Boyd.
Ross was an Army Veteran of WW2 having attained the rank of TSgt. He was a retired foreman of the Tool Room at the former Bethlehem Steel Corp, Lebanon. Ross was member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Lebanon where he served as a Lay Assistant Pastor, past superintendent of the Sunday School, past Treasurer and the Lutheran Brotherhood. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226 F&AM and Northside Civic League. Ross was an avid fan of the Phillies, Sixers and Eagles.
Ross is survived by his daughters Patricia Young of Lebanon, Susan, wife of James Sullivan of West Chester; grandchildren Richard L. Young, Jr. of Lebanon, Jamie S., wife of Kevin McLain of Newmanstown, W. Ross, husband of Meghan Young of Lebanon, Bevin T. Sullivan of Malvern, Brandon C., husband of Erin Sullivan of West Chester, Kinsey B., husband of Shannon Sullivan of West Chester; 12 great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend Ross’s viewing Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 6 to 8 PM from Porterfield-Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, Ltd., 890 Isabel Drive, Lebanon. A Masonic service by Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226 F&AM, will be held Thursday evening at 5:45 PM. Casket interment will be made in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery with military honors Friday, November 6, 2020 at 11 AM. Please omit flowers memorial contributions in Ross’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
