Built in 2011 as a dedicated funeral home facility, Snyder Bean Funeral Home & Crematory is a modern, state-of-the-art building designed specifically for funeral and cremation services. Previously owned by James Porterfield, Snyder Bean Funeral Home & Crematory has a long-standing reputation for compassionate and professional service. Before acquiring the funeral home at 890 Isabel Drive, Mr. Porterfield was the longtime supervisor at Rohland Funeral Home in Lebanon, where he provided dedicated care to local families for many years. Today, that legacy continues under the ownership of Charles F. "Chad" Snyder III and Kevin M. Bean—both highly respected, local funeral directors with decades of experience. Kevin’s family has deep roots in Lebanon County, having settled in Bunker Hill when immigrating from Europe. Bunker Hill Evangelical Church on route 72 is located on what was the Bean family farm. The Krum family, Mizpah Krum and Robert Krum, who owned Rohland Funeral Home in Lebanon for two generations were related to Kevin as Mizpah Bean “M.B.” Krum’s mother, Emma (Bean) Krum was a sister to Kevin’s great grandfather Henry Bean.
Chad Snyder owns and operates Charles F. Snyder Funeral Homes in Lancaster, PA, while Kevin Bean owns and operates Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory in Reading, PA.
