As of February 2025, in a significant development in the Lebanon community, two independent local funeral home owners, Charles F. Snyder III and Kevin M Bean, who have served the Lancaster and Reading communities for multiple generations have established the Snyder Bean Funeral Home & Crematory at the site of the former Porterfield-Scheid Funeral Home located at 890 Isabel Drive, Lebanon. This transition marks the continuation of quality and compassionate funeral services under the new supervision of Charles F, Snyder Funeral Homes & Crematory in Lancaster County and the Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory located in Berks County. Katelynn E. Fetter, a respected licensed funeral director committed to maintaining the high standards set by both the Charles F, Snyder Funeral Homes & Crematory and the Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory will serve as Supervisor.

Previously owned by James Porterfield, Snyder Bean Funeral Home & Crematory has a long-standing reputation for compassionate and professional service. Before acquiring the funeral home at 890 Isabel Drive, Mr. Porterfield was the longtime supervisor at Rohland Funeral Home in Lebanon, where he provided dedicated care to local families for many years. Today, that legacy continues under the ownership of Charles F. "Chad" Snyder III and Kevin M. Bean—both highly respected, local funeral directors with decades of experience. Kevin’s family has deep roots in Lebanon County, having settled in Bunker Hill when immigrating from Europe. Bunker Hill Evangelical Church on route 72 is located on what was the Bean family farm. The Krum family, who owned Rohland Funeral Home in Lebanon for two generations were related to Kevin as Mizbah “M.B.” Krum’s mother was a sister to Kevin’s great grandfather Henry Bean.

Chad Snyder owns and operates Charles F. Snyder Funeral Homes in Lancaster, PA, while Kevin Bean owns and operates Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory in Reading, PA.
